Stuck on a Case? CRT Can Help! Build Connection and Confidence in DHH Practice

Feeling stumped or stuck with a challenging case….you’re not alone! This presentation will share a structured case presentation format, called Case Review Teaming (CRT). CRT meetings provide a dedicated space where DHH providers, particularly Birth to Three providers, can collaborate, share insights, and build the skills needed to address the difficult cases we face. Each CRT meeting is designed to have one provider volunteer to share a case to gain fresh perspectives from their team members, enhancing providers skills and intrateam collaboration. This monthly peer-to-peer support is a cornerstone of CRT meetings, fostering a sense of community, shared understanding, and dynamic problem solving. Research has shown that “weak professional relationships” has led to burnout and providers leaving the early intervention field. The virtual meeting format of CRT ensures that providers feel connected and supported, even if they are working across a large geographical area. By adopting CRT meetings, we will show how you can effectively foster intra-team collaboration. We will demonstrate that by identifying themes over time, your team can feel empowered to seek out resources for professional development and growth. Leave with the blueprint needed to begin implementing your own CRT meetings today, and you’ll be ready to tackle whatever case comes your way!

  • The participant will be able to describe how to implement the structured format of peer-led Case Review Teaming meetings.
  • Participants will be able to identify key facilitator competencies necessary to lead effective Case Review Teaming (CRT) discussions, foster a supportive learning environment, and promote meaningful, solution-focused outcomes.
  • The participant will identify how CRT meetings can be used to distinguish areas for ongoing professional development and team support.
